Song Of A Hotel Room Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Song Of A Hotel Room

Rating: 5.0

Alone, in a hotel room
Knowing that you will not be there
When you get back,
I begin to cry in my pillow
Trying to recall what I did wrong
For you to flee my arms
What I thought were just minor infractions,
Because you never wanted to talk
You always wanted tojust make out
And for the most of the time, so did I
But I wanted to be a star
And needed to leave to prove my ability
I thought you understood
Yeah! I hated being without you
Though I would ask if you wanted to come
However, you kept saying you needed to keep
The home's fires going
Before too long, the cracks began to show
When finally my star shone brightly
You couldn't handle it
Because I was an equal to you
I guess people change
Now, we're two lonely people in this vast world
Still thinking about each other miles apart

love is fickle.. and power gained by one often moves the heart away from another
