Sometimes It Help To Be Reminded

Sometimes it helps to be reminded
Of the blue and green earth
Of its cooling waters
Of its emerald springs
Of the innocence of clouds
And tempestuous Aprils
Of the quickening to life
Of ancient stars still
Sending their light year poems to us
Of taking a deep breath
Of the perfume of trees
Their otherworldliness
Their roots gripping deep into the ground
And the earth laden with birdsong suspended in space
And still turning.
