Soccer Ball's Farewell Poem by Ima Ryma

Soccer Ball's Farewell

A soccer ball, I've been around
For many years now in grade school.
Whether in air or on the ground,
I've been a useful teaching tool
To teach you kids to be good sports,
As in the game of life you play,
Meeting challenges of all sorts,
Doing your best, come end of day.
I feel that I have played a part
In being there for each of you,
Playing with me with all your heart.
I'm old now, so retire I do.

I've gotten a lot of kicks, yup,
Watching all of you kids grow up.
