Sleep Well Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Sleep Well

Sleep well

No, it did not move
As if something was removed
From body forever
I was shaken with fear

Your were light of the house
No one had grudges against you
You were so cute
And voice coming like from flute

Our day started with your cry
When you wanted to try
For daily food from mother
We all rushed to offer

Something went wrong
That took away our lovely song
Making us sad permanently
The news were received shockingly

These hands took him to grave
The child was so brave
That he could not be felt absent
His voice was heard as if showing he was present

I secretly go to his grave in night
I speak few words in light mood
I know he will respond sadly
"yes papa, sleep well as I rest here comfortably"
