Sleep Paralysis. Poem by SY Wong ...

Sleep Paralysis.

Like any other time I slept
but in the middle of nowhere between sleeping and waking
A demon pounced on me
I was paralysed by such heaviness
I presumed that was a girl demon with no legs
I was paralysed and couldn't breathe
I couldn't, couldn't do anything
I started to think
Thinking, think Jesus
The demon fled
Her coarse long hair I didn't want to touch smelled corpsey
That night I did not die
Without fear, I continued to sleep
Jesus is always there to fight
and to deliver.
