Sky Of My Dream Poem by Chima Ononogbu

In the sky
Lies my dream,
Where among the stars,
It watches and beckons on me.

I shall fly,
Across seas of limits,
Out of drowning worries,
And above dimensions of fear,
To the planet of my dream.

There, in the translucent cloud,
Overlooking gated waters,
Adjacent to singing suns,
Along the harbor for the moons,
And beyond the telescope of warring winds,
Among breathing stars, my dream wines and dines.

And again, in this sky of my dream
Are streets wrapped in linens of gooseberries,
Perfumed with air that smells the scents of roses;
Where gentle rivers with many hues of silver
Spread to the edges of effervescent coppice.

Although I have no wings to fly,
Although the wind grows tempestuous,
But I shall fly,
Fly to the sky,
To meet my dream,
Where we shall live in eternal union.
