by Freeyad Ibrahim
When a citizen asks me
which country do you come from
I get a shock
Why does he ask
What is its benefit?
How important is my reply?
What can the difference be?
Whoever asks me of my age
I get a shock
Why does he need to know
how old am I?
What is the importance,
of this piece of information?
Whenever a lady is asked
About her age,
She turns red in face
She asks herself
What could this knowledge
be of any kind of use,
What could the aim be?
It is better not to ask
Anyone about his own origin
Nor his age?
