Serpent Poem by Thomas Kane

Serpent

Rating: 5.0

Was late that eve the serpent sly as none other
Deception hiss per word spoken like that of a brother
The story captures the imagination and invokes
Morals the white and sin be rite black provokes
A layer of reality the smoke screen thickens
Vial veil prevails and the control quickens
Day you see death longs in the mind gloom
Live by righteous act or see eternal doom
Quest not further than what allowed to be true
Worship and pay taxes and be as never to argue
Foul forms the lines of a lie with out resistance
Governed is your right to give up a bold stance
Truth from a whisper a serpent tails end
Rattled in the world death is a light my friend
