Savouring Melodies Poem by Rita Shay

Savouring Melodies

Rating: 2.8

I don’t understand anything about it
I don’t know the notes
And would certainly butcher it if I tried to play it

But listening to it
Is wonderful
The silky notes flow from one to the other
So peaceful and delicate

Its hard to remember things when you listen to this kind of music
The velvety melody hums
Until it soothes your heart
And massages your soul

It’s a tranquil treat
Not to be overplayed
But to let the song
Remain as a treat

I haven’t lisened to it in 10 years
And its just as beautiful as I remember

I’ll never buy my favourite song
So in thirty years time
It will have been played three times
Each note savored
Each perfect beat
Applauded and
Adored.
