Rosmin's Happiness? ? Poem by Andrew Lee

Rosmin's Happiness? ?

What is Happiness? Where is Happiness?

I am 51 years old, a meditator for more than 30 years.

Well, what about Happiness?

Happiness = mental sparks.

Happiness = fleeting mental sparks that arise and pass away.

Happiness = mental bubbles that keep bursting every few seconds, which come and go away.

Nothing which is made up of mental sparks can remain permanent.

Happiness = Fleeting mental sparks which are impermanent. When we recall these feelings of happiness, we can obtain another ripples of self-satisfaction, which is more serene and quiet. We try to convince ourselves that we have attained some degree of happiness, joy and fulfillment in life. Psychologists say, Happiness is a matter of self-hypnosis. It is the kind of mental self-talk. If we talk positively most of the time to ourselves, we can be more optimistic and happy.

In most instances, controlling the content of our thougts and ideation and visualization can help to induce feelings of happiness or light-heartedness.... ie. we think and meditate on happy, peaceful and joyful things....

Such visualization, ideations and thoughts influence your feeling and mental state, and happiness is a ripple of mental sparks, or a short-lived wave of mental sparks that make you feel light-hearted, open-hearted and 'self-forgetting', where we do not feel trapped inside a lonely mind. Perhaps it is like the orgasmic sensation of forgetting about the self, the bursting of the Ego which is a mental self-construct from same patterns of thoughts and thinking and emotional habit.

Therefore, Millionaires and Workaholics and Pleasure seekers and adventure-seekers chase after those ripples of light-hearted mental sparks, those short-lived waves and bubbles of happiness, and these bubbles of happiness keep bursting every few seconds....

And all those Millionaires and Pleasure seekers and Thrillseekers and Sensory experience seekers start their pursuits all over again... Soon they discover that they cannot grasp and hold onto the bubbles of happiness.... the bubbles of happiness keep bursting every few seconds... they come and go away, like the movement of the waves, and they cannot stay......
