Rooms To Grow Poem by Colette Dright

Rooms To Grow

There are rooms in my home where I seek Your inner peace
There are rooms in my home where my worries I release
There is something about me Lord, there are times I'm not sure
Give me the understanding, give me patience to endure

Give me the strength and the wisdom for the things I do not know
Give me the guidance, lead me Lord to the rooms to pray and grow

In my living room is where the gospel songs I play
I raise my hands and exercise to start me on my way
In my kitchen there is food, there is rice and beans and meat
I pray to God and thank Him for the food that I'm about to eat

In my bath, in the mirror, You are Beautiful I say
In the shower when I cleanse, there are moments when I pray
In my bedroom where I sleep, I pray to God my soul to keep
Guide me safely through the night, wake me with the morning light

Find in your home a Prayer Room, a Dare Room
A room where you dare to have faith, dare to believe
Dare to trust God so you can receive
Dare to love, dare to have faith, dare to try, dare to fly
Dare to have peace and pray for increase
Dare to dream, dare to know, dare to find that room to grow

In your heart there is room, room you didn't know
Room for you to love again, room for you to grow
Room for you to trust, room for you to heal
Room for you to restore, room for you to reveal

In your mind there is room, room for you to grow
Room for you to forgive, room for you to let go
In your spirit there is room, room for you to grow
Room for you to seek God for He truly loves you so

In your life, find that room, that room where you can go
That room for you to laugh and live, that room for you to grow

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When you have the gift of poetry, it's funny how little things, even the simpliest things can inspire you. One day while driving, I saw a "Rooms to Go" truck (you know, the furniture store) . Well yeah,
just seeing the name inspired this mind of mine and I just flipped the
titled and thought, Rooms to Grow and then began to reflect on areas where I can grow.
So a Big thank you to "Rooms to Go" for inspiring me to write this wonderful piece.
