Retrograde Amnesia Poem by Daniel Brown

Retrograde Amnesia

Of course i have seen the writing on the wall,
The intertwining interest in the symmetry of pitfalls.
Piquing interest,
Peering thoughts,
Pointless rites of passage to assuage.
Broken systems,
Broken down,
Attempts all made in vain
To steer the wreckage off the shores,
Immolation all that's paid...
Post the payment to the ferryman,
A soul to pave your way,
To find your penance paid and then
Refunded with a grave.
