Remember Poem by M.J. Lemon

Remember

Rating: 5.0

On a cool night
a full moon
inspects toddler's toys
strewn across the yard

a light bulb
burns on the porch
a wisp of steam
from a kettle
slithers past
the screen door
for a tango
with a line of
fog crawling
so slow indoors

small things claim
grand memories
when time stops
and peace reigns

I can feel the calmness reading your poem, I get that same feeling sitting in my garden at dusk when all is quiet and when even the gulls have flown to their nest.

Even small scenes and natural occurrences of no great significance can leave a lot of impressions when the mind is calm and composed. The same scenes might not impress us or even seem repulsive if the mind is perturbed. So everything depends on our mental mood. Beautiful poem....! 10 on 10

Thank you so very much, Valsa. Yes, I am always amazed by how great an impact small things can have, and how long lasting those memories are.
