Regarding A Smile Poem by Brooke Renwick

Regarding A Smile

Rating: 5.0

I caught a bus today.
I touched on and touched off.
The driver was silent.

I sat at my desk and typed.
My colleagues were
Engaged in talk about the weather.

At the shop,
The shop assistant looked,
Bored and exhausted.

Outside the shop,
An old man grumbled
About the younger generation.

Such a cold, impersonal planet.
The sun wants to be shining,
I thought the rain is on the way.

Then from out of the
Corner of my eye,
A woman smiled.

The clouds broke a
moment later and
I noticed a bird chirping.

" Such a cold, impersonal planet" It does seem like that sometimes. Though we know there are wonderful people out there. Who do all they can to piece this world together. Your smile will connect the dots too.
