Red Is Life Poem by Larry Perry Sr

Red Is Life

RED IS LIFE

When will it stop being a crime for being black, I wear black on my skin probably for all man woman and child to see

I'm not ashamed of my skin color, but I do blame those who are color blind for their shame

So much hate for someone's color, but guess what we all bleed red until we're dead

The same red that saves lives each and every day, the same red some love to hate in a man woman or child

Who have may just save your or your loved one life without you even knowing it

For the haters of the color of one's skin let me see if you cut yourself will you bleed the color of your skin

I think not just like for those who don't believe in God, but as soon as something really bad happens to them the first person they call on is God to help them, this is a fact maybe not for all, but for the most of them they do, it's God's way of making them see the light

Color is only skin deep, as deep as you see it from looking on the outside, instead of on the inside where red resides

I have a few nationalities in me, but I'm still black a black man of color who bleeds red just like you

The one with the color that is not like mine that bleed red as I do, so when it come down to it and you need that red blood and mine is the only blood available will you rather die or live that is the question
