Reconnect Poem by Lely Atempa

Reconnect

Rating: 5.0

We lost a lot of years.
We forgot all the beautiful sights.
We don't talk face to face anymore as often.
We are always on our phones.

Skype, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat ect.
Good job, you made us lose touch with ourselves.
These are all anti social apps.
We are ignoring everything around us.

We are like fish but we are disappearing.
because we have to update our social media.
on what is happening instead of doing something about it.
Instead of paying attention to the ones who truly love us.

People are measuring their worth by
The number of likes on the internet.
So they can feel loved, when they don't even know the person. Hating themselves because of four likes on a picture.

We all lost touch, we can barely be around eachother.
Starting a tweeter civil war with people we never talk to.

We are lost in this decade
And we can never come back.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I think that technology has come a long way but has started to make everyone different and not want to talk face to face unless there at school, college or work but that's it.

I agree; in the name of improvisation we have lost our mooring.
