Razzmatazz: Queen Of Fashion Poem by Paula Glynn

Razzmatazz: Queen Of Fashion

Queen Elizabeth II born 21st April 1926
Christened Elizabeth Alexandra Mary
Passing away on the 8th of September 2022
A queen never forgotten for her sense of fun
And a queen never forgotten for her humour
And her adventurous spirit and kindness

Reigning supreme for 70 years and 214 days
A fantastic life to utterly amaze
And a wardrobe that left her no one's slave
And left her to wow and amaze
Her clothing designed with her in mind
As she wore many outfits: all especially designed

Her fashion sense uniting a nation
With so many people admiring the Queen's wardrobe
With camera people in every corner of the room
Her sense of visual branding keeping her stylish
Going from young girl outfits during childhood
Until being crowned Queen on the 6th of February in 1952

Having worn a gown the Queen named ‘Glorious'
She delighted everyone in the room
The night sadly gone all too soon
With the charisma and ultimate style of the Queen
Who had been very much seen
Other women in then room too impressed to go green

Other outfits in succession
The Queen's stylist in later years
Being the fabulous Mary Angela Kelly
A British fashion designer, dressmaker and milliner
Having served as a Personal Assistant
And Senior Dresser to Queen Elizabeth II starting 2002

A designer making the Queen to look ahead of her time
And - with the fashion industry - in line
Also wearing smart, attractive and especially designed shoes
Made to fit for a royal Queen
And being made to be respectfully seen
As Queen Elizabeth had her whole life truly been

A fashion icon: showing the big wide world
Her beauty since being a fun and happy little girl
And showing that the older woman can still look good
Wear smart - yet slightly - youthful clothes
And not feel as if she's been wrongfully exposed
Instead wearing colourful - and beautiful - designer clothes.
