Programmed Prison Poem by Kelvin Rush

Programmed Prison

Send little Jimmy to the programmed prison
Get him used to authority steal his freedom and vision
Tell him what to do when to speak how to pray
When little Jimmy cries lock him away

Little Jimmy's life is one constant routine
He doesn't stand a chance another slave in the machine
Many years of fear and control leave their mark
Little Jimmy's lost all alone in the dark

Little Jimmy's mind has been programmed from birth
He has no real awareness no inner light or self-worth
He's in the midst of madness confused like all the rest
Playing his part in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Little Jimmy knows that something's not quite right
As his curiosity grows he regains his sight
He no longer feels guilty for his crimes and sins
Little Jimmy becomes a man as the revolution begins
