POVERTY
by Freeyad Ibrahim

Poverty causes the luster of a man to grow dim
like the yellowness of the setting sun.
When absent, no One remembers him
and when present, regarded as a matter of fun.

By Allah! a man among his own relations
when afflicted with poverty, loses all attentions!
