Poor Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Poor

Poverty
By Freeyad Ibrahim

There is nothing heavier than empty pots
on the heads of the hungry
Poverty is like punishment for a crime
you did not commit
If a poor person enters a house
He is not welcome
Moreover they are scared
That he might envy them
Struck them with the evil eye
If he is present in an assembly,
He is despised.
If he is absent,
He is not mentioned.
Imam Ali once said:
If poverty was a man,
I would have killed him.
Napoleon had once said.
If not for the religion
the poor would have killed the rich
