Patiently they stand
On the poll
Carrying the flag -
Who wears the crown?
Sudden drops of water
Falling like green apple
On their heads
The prize for peoplecracy?
Sun shone like florescent light
Face wet with weariness
They stand
Patiently they stand
With patriotic whistle
Sudden sound of bomb blast
Opening grave of uniformed youths
Snatching away knowledge
Bought with midnight oil
Can they smile again?
Those that drank the bitter pill
That we may be well again.
Who wears the crown? Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
