People Pay Homage Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

People Pay Homage

People pay homage

It will flee
From beloved tree
From the nest
Where it rested for years

We have developed an attachment
That continues at present
We are unable to decide
And choose the side

One thing is for sure
We are very much assured
About the futility of venture
Yet we go and run after

In young age
We shall enjoy and manage
But as an age advances
The life is losing chances

You feel dullness
No charm and brightness
You want to free from bondage
The day comes when you are gone and people pay homage
