The daily task of paying life's tolls
awake each morning, avoid the Trolls
all shot to pieces as telephone rings
appointments long forgotten
the ones that always cause strife.
Your cup of coffee put to one side
deep breaths are needed before going outside
join the human tide all headed for daily adventures
the conductor taps his baton, time to pay attention
what rhythm will today's activities bring?
Do not drag your feet, walk tall with a spring in your step
double ration of tolls needed for this seance
have you ever looked at a scene so serene?
standing still lost in Natures silence
the scene you see brings you happiness.
You have been here before, your memory reminds you
where do you fit in this orchestra of daily life?
wind or string, percussion perhaps
the day it ends time to reflect
your toll it is paid your body gives thanks.
