Lone standing egret
On guard rail post
Of an elegant bridge
A magnificent view.
I stood still as a statue
So did the spotted bird
His gleaming eyes
Looked me up curiously.
My eyes were covered
By dark sunglasses
Waterfowl seemed to wonder
What world this man sees.
My morning walk that day
Was delightful indeed
An unforgettable sight
Appearing out of the blue.
