Our Unfinished Waltz Poem by Inday Prising

Our Unfinished Waltz

Rating: 5.0

you held me your arms as we danced the waltz
one erry night at that grand masquerade ball

beneath those grotesque arches and barreled vaults
where those vivid voices filled that lavish hall

you gazed upon me and took my hand in yours
then began to bow, hearing the overture

when you guided me through those pink marbled floors
everything around me seemed to have recur

we started to dance the unfamiliar song
one step to the left, another to the right

even though every step we took seemed wrong
you held me in your arms and vanished my fright

you held me closer as I counted to three
and then you swirled me!
