Oracle Day Poem by Joan Xie

Oracle Day

Today is the day
I decided to let water thicker than blood
Let tale larger than life

Today I see myself standing
Between cliff and cliff
Spreading my wings as an eagle should be

I who have never lacked courage
Will be called for my duty
Will fulfill my duty and position

Today is the day
What's not been written shall be written
What's has been written will be examined

Yet it is not a revenge
Not an elegy but a eulogy
For a failed heart must have its last say

Goodness will never come till a full-scale evil
And evil will never be destroyed
Till we are all destroyed

As destroyed we will be
Before destroyed we shall do
Planting seeds nurturing seeds spreading them

Today is the day
Before dove returns, I decided to step out of the ark
And shoulder the first falling rock
