Open Door Poem by Diana Kouprina

Open Door

The door was always open,
No warning
And not a sign
The doorway just ajar
Leading into this crazy hell
I found myself falling
At curiosity peak
The door no locks just there
ajar for all to see
The blackness lurking
Behind the door
Calling out my name
As Catherine did of Heathcliff
Through the stormy nights at sea
Hanging on a cliff
Yet, I contained myself still
It wasn't till
I saw him
Did my curiosity could
no longer hold
All white and fuzzy
A man disguised
As bunny
Jumped straight through
The open door
Into the black
Hole
Calling out my name

As Catherine did of Heathcliff
On the haunted nights of hell
I went through the door
That was always open.
I saw him jump into the abyss
Was he a bunny
Or the devil,
Or just a man of no amiss?
I wanted to know
What lurked in darkness,
Behind the curtains
And the haunted ghosts.
I didn't think twice
Or maybe
I will admit
I gave it a thought or two.
But nonetheless
I jumped over the threshold
Of the wide open door
Into the black abyss.
Leading into this crazy hell
Of mine.
