On Drama Day Poem by Buddy Bee Anthony

On Drama Day

Li'l Miss/Mr.
Someday
you gonna drive a big fancy car
Li'l Miss Someday
baby gonna be a star..

Li'l Miss Someday
you gonna walk with me,
Li'l Miss.....
Won't be a wilting firefly under
a jar for just your family to see
No matter what you do or say
it's already been said.
Some bean counter
upstairs
done separatin'
the quickened
from the dead
So, go have you
have you
funky monkey fun today
Have your have your spunky
flunky fun today
Someday,
you won't look at me like that
you won't talk to me that way.
You're gonna ride up
in my big fancy car
Uptown, downtown superstars
won't give it all away for free.
Won't have to take you back
to your last heart attack
under that jar
where you used to be.

I said, Li'l Miss Someday
You're gifted
and blessed
and you'll go far,
If you learn and move on from yesterday
. Gone is Y2K
It's not your judgement day.
come out come out
wherever you are
where all the children can play
Cuz, today's a brand new
Dharma,
Drama Day

Improvisational song. somewhat confrontational
but with music and lyrics you can get away with mre. I originally wrote and began singing this piece 25+ years ago to children who had were walking their parents in Mpls. Mn.
