On A Moonlit Night Poem by Anton Kar

On A Moonlit Night

Rating: 4.0

You may determine if it is a fable
Or parable ascending to the skies.
It's up to you to puzzle over veiling,
My job is slightly more to glorify.
Beginning to relate, my bounden duty
Demands to caution you against the lot:
Considering the basics of the beauty
Be sure to interpret twisters in the plot.

Once in the middle of the moonlit night
A happening occurred to everyone's delight;
An oriole from tropical Botswana
Struck up its fluty-sweet roundelay.
It seemed as if an ancient mana
Miraculously revived on a high holy day.

And every single one lapsed into silence
Bewitched by the sound of the dream,
Except for an unconscious little child
Vociferating with a desperate appeal.
The scream was overwhelming at the peak
But hardly could compel the bird to kneel.

The people heard the child crying:
‘Annoying and distracting sound of debt'.
The palm was given to the flying,
The baby found itself under the threat.
Such was the end of the internal fight
Once in the middle of the moonlit night.

Life is a journey, for everyone unique;
You may determine what sense to feel in it.
The sun is rising; the moon is on the wane;
The voice of reason impels to comprehend.
Insanity? Confusion? … ‘Maybe Test? '
Too late, we may as well confess.
However tempting the lure seems to be,
It takes a blink to find yourself adrift.
