Oh Liberty Oh Liberty Poem by Bishoy Sargius

Oh Liberty Oh Liberty

Rating: 5.0

Oh liberty oh liberty have we lost our sanity
As with our freedom we have lost our own humanity
I can no longer sleep at night in serenity
As our culture feeds off of our own insecurity
We simply run from our mistakes avoiding liability
Crawling in the dark wandering just blindly
We have gave up our liberty for a little security
As we fail to learn our mistakes riddled throughout history
Are we to continue to marinate in our own stupidity
Oh liberty save us from ourselves as we live in misery
Oh how I miss the days of old filled with tranquility
Is it true that we will simply let our lives suffer in quality
Whatever happened in calling all people family
Oh why we still abuse you is still such a mystery
Let alone be it that we lack such civility
For if we continue on this route we shall surely return to a monarchy
So I suppose we can live in absolute simplicity
But that would result in our minds living in absolute poverty
So I suppose it would be better to live in absolute creativity
But would that just mean we'll live in false memories
