Ode To Freedom Poem by Adisa Oludare Enitan

Ode To Freedom

Oh freedom! My freedom
where art thou?
Why did you leave me
at this crucial juncture
when i needed you the most

Oh freedom!
thou art sweet and soothing
yet deceitful and dangerous
for your sting gives life and death
elixer of immortality I call you

Many have died trying to have you
lost and broken in your pursuit
for they have tasted of your sweetness
known the goodness of your presence
while most are ignorant of your power

Oh freedom!
I wouldn't hesitate to be with
Once again
cos with you I have found
the true meaning if life.
