New Times Old Love Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

New Times Old Love

Trying heart in silent pain
and thoughts parading
on a lonely road.
Remembering the times
your presence was holier
And how your angelic voice,
sweetened every sour mood.
Before everything green withered
Before everything sweet soured
Now, the wind blows create voices
To the ears they sound like you
Yet in their fate, you are still absent.

Time is new and love is old
The mind tries to write another chapter
But the one of yours, The heart still
has unfinished tasks with it.

Walking on the streets we met on,
the heart's wishes are to come across you
What hurt are the bridges
connecting new times and old love.
Emotions' elevation push out rivers of tears
A loving heart cries to smile again
A broken one wishes for the bridges to burn.
But they remain solid like a pyramid

New pond of love a heart has found
Yet, it misses the old pond's love taste
The mind tries to ignore,
But the heart keeps on looking back
Just another lost child missing home.
