A bulldog performed an amazing deed,
Despite his breed,
Hearing kittens mew,
To water he flew,
Diving in Tamarack Lake,
All for their sake.
Away from his master,
To avert disaster.
Despite his heavy head,
To the middle he sped,
To faces in a sack,
Napoleon stayed on track.
Cold in the dark,
They were glad of his bark.
In all there were six,
In a bit of a fix.
He pulled the kittens to shore,
For a crowd to adore.
Their bodies so furry,
Made my eyes all blurry.
With faces too adorable,
For an act so deplorable.
But thanks to their cries,
Napoleon has a prize.
A great juicy steak,
For crossing a lake.
finest tribute to an act of bravery by Napoleon, the big hearted friend.

Gorgeous poem with a good pace to unfold the tale. Inventive rhymes too. I would like to meet this dog and shake its paw!
