My Sunrise In Your Hands Poem by Adrian Antique

My Sunrise In Your Hands

Many of them laughed when you tried …
Some even secretly cried,
When I told my story and you smiled
And comforted me in your arms like a child.

Few knew how you had lifted
And listened to the heavy words I said,
About facing the storms instead of running away
And embracing the pillars of light at the start of the day.

Yet, here I am wandering in your forest
Just moving with your shadow to the mountain crest -
One step at a time … no longer that afraid
Of losing the safety of the ground where my shivers laid.

Let us then walk even with our eyes closed …
Let's find wonder in this darkness I envy the most -
For great beauty resides in the whirlpools of the night
And they erupt into fiery blooms at day's first sunlight.

You know who you are - my gifts so few, my truth so rare.
When I slid and bled, you did not just stare.
The staff that holds us standing never bends …
Our teary words of hope and forgiveness never ends.

I have listed your names in the patchwork of my soul …
Every sculptured letter is a thread that keeps me whole.
So, I long for your embrace in my cold, cold shining -
In your palm glows my tomorrow and my everything.
