My Girls Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

My Girls

Rating: 5.0

He said, they might have to be removed
Yr life depends on it
It's all up to you
I was worried about that
But I knew the score
The mammogram said so
I was so numb; I couldn't cry
He said you can have reconstruction surgery
You're covered for that if you choose
I stared at my girls
Wondering if having a fake pair would satisfy everyone
Maybe I'll have better, more perky ones instead
He said he was sorry for the bad news...
Then, I got into my car
And the tears just gushed out
As i turned the key
