Mum... If Only Poem by Karla Bell

Mum... If Only

Rating: 5.0

I felt kind of sad today, a little lost, a little blue,
I wasn’t sure what it was, but I know I’m missing you!
I wasn’t the blue eyed boy; I was the one with scruffy hair,
But I loved you all the same, because you always cared.

You made me the man I am today, though some still say a boy
I wasn’t all the things i could have been, but still your pride and joy.
Words I never said, and some I wish that weren’t out loud
Mum I miss your laughter and want to make you proud

Time they say takes pain away and leaves it far away,
But sometimes I feel it more with each and every day.
You gave me life, you’re in my soul, and you live deep in my heart
Mum you’re in my thoughts like we have never been apart.

I know I’ve been a nightmare; you pulled your hair out from the root,
I’ve played a merry tune on a very shiny flute,
But if i could hold your hand again, and tell you all my news
Things would be so much easier as you were taken far too soon
