Mother Poem by Sotirios Skoufis

Mother

Mother, there's no other
men look for her
all their lives
when she's dead

up to the skies
when she's alive
what a blessing
mother's are the best, or the worst

Your mother loves you,
your mother hurts you
try to think: your mother
is just a normal person-like you

Give her room to make mistakes
enjoy all her cakes :)
watch for her when she's old
without her you'd be bold

not bold
never even old
never even young
never even born

Mother, please
don't forget about father
Do it with ease
he's not just a lease

Mother, there's no other
Do we need you?
Can we feed you?
Can we wash you?

Mother you did it all
you were like a wall
protecting us from others
even from our own brothers

Mother,
you're unique
like a good boutique
with a wonder inside

Mother
my life is good
I go out in the hood
I chop a lot of wood

Mother
I tried to do my best, I'm proud of myself
I'm still just 40, but have 3 kids
had a relationship for 17 years
married 13- you know anyone with a record like this?

Mother
there's no other out there like me
there's not even one little bee
thank you that you did not made me flee

Mother
thank you for no brother
thank you for no sister
I feel good alone
don't need anyone to break my balls

Mother
thank you for Germany,
France, England, Italy,
all the countries I have seen

Mother
thank you for being there
all my life just being there
working for me

so I can have it all
build my own wall
for my kids
to protect

and to serve
Mother I love you
like no other
you're my brother
you're my sister

Mother
you left so early
with 62

Mother
can you hear me?
when I talk 2 you?
when I cry?

When I'm happy?
When I sing? When I call your name?
Can you see me when I dance?
Do you feel my romance?

How is it in heaven?
I wake up around eleven
I miss the times we were together
they were too little, that was not so clever

Mother, whatever
be happy
I'm ok
miss you, and kiss you.
