Me And My Timberman Poem by The Muse

Me And My Timberman

Rating: 5.0

With great care he placed them there
In woods so dark and deep and rare
He caressed them gently and fed them love
He let the sun filter rays from above
He kept the snow away from them
A glass wall he built around
They grew imagining it to be true and sound
Their leaves flourished with buds abound
Branches grew thicker and added to the rings
Birds on every branch began to sing
Flowers bloomed and smiles blossomed
This man's praises were sung throughout the land
Then one night he planted another
Right there near her even as she watched
She watched as he loved her too
But her heart was broken and rend into two
She knew what happened next
He will axe her without pretext
Soon she will be more timber
Just logs of wood for the timber man
Burn the fuel O timber man
And may the fumes remind you of love
Once so deep and quickly forgotten now
Me and my Timberman
