Man After Me Poem by Chukwuebuka Adebayo

Man After Me

MAN AFTER ME

Like a fisher lying at the sea,
Awaits a hiding dusk for a catch
So at the day he must attack me;
Vain is my running for all of his watch
His spell surely will get me in a glance
Doomed i ask after men's wits and clue
I hold not my peace---I need a chance
What, person shall make me a rescue?
In my dream he is, scaring my retreats--
Books writes of him--I'll never read a book;
Popping up in roadsigns, everywhere on streets
In concerts, In Operas, when we go to a jook
Woe we are, O what he is determining?
For we will never escape his timing! .

I've seen a gathering talking of his evils,
His deadly characters left serious blot
Of that hardest being with twenty devils
And yet what description is it have I got;
How clear do i tell of the man after me
Or explain of him sweet and will be true?
Only him can make the blindman to see
Made the nature, the seas and the blue
Raises the dead and heals all disease
My faith is not in men's lies though it is rife
He is the poor's hope and lets rich increase
We all, I think can't escape him in life
He is the only eternal son of God,
His name is Christ Jesus, my Lord.
