Made Me Truly Naked Poem by For Matilde

Made Me Truly Naked

When my face
is stolen by the earth
when my dust
is scattered to the winds
when the last fragrant flower
falls into the Caminho
flows as silent as you
without motive or cause
when all things lack more than themselves
remember then the firmness of our wings
the sweet curve of our lips
the freedom you gave me
which only you could
remember then our limbless movements
how you stripped me
made me truly naked
