Lucky Old Lady Poem by Dorsey Baker

Lucky Old Lady

Lucky old lady
Loaded down with
Sparkling jewelry
Looks real but it's fake
Almost hit by a car
As she steps out into
The middle of the street
Trying to cross across

Lucky old lady
Living big in the big city
Spending money just like
It ain't never going to run out
And spending time
Because she still thinks
That there is
Always going to be
Some left!
Lucky old lady
So blessed to still be alive
And she wakes up every morning
Shaking hands with father time
And thanking mother nature
