Let There Be Love Poem by Eva Mae Witt

Let There Be Love

If I ever met you, I'd feel the nearness of you
In my eyes and in my foolish heart, you'd be nearby
All these unfamiliar feelings I've forgotten

It's just a matter of time, I'd feel the nearness of
Your exquisite touch, would be like a taste of honey
someday we'd be back home lying on the green, green grass

Taking us both and feeling those unfamiliar
feelings, we'dboth be singing fly us to the moon, moon
It's just a matter of time as we lay on the green

Green, green grass of home like the taste of you honey
This foolish heart of mine has been in love with you dear
The nearness of you, has kept me thinking and feeling

You had come a long way from that familiar place
Of St. Louis, for I will never leave you so blue
this foolish heart of mine, your love has been true to me

Now we're both singing, Fly us both to the moon, moon, moon
then we'd be telling all of how our love kept us so
full of love, laughter and song and dance fly us to

Those green, green grasses of home, home, my beloved home
You had come a long way from that familiar place
Of St. Louis, for I will never leave you so blue
