Let The Old Man Live Poem by Dorsey Baker

Let The Old Man Live

he talks too fast
and he
mumbles too much
but you know that
words of wisdom
they come slow
they don't get in
no kind of rush

you had better
let the old man live
because he is
almost dead
better give him
something to eat
because he is
ready to be fed

he don't trust
the future
so he just live in the past
he ain't
no weather man
still he is
trying to tell you
the weather forecast

you had better
let the old man live
because he is
almost dead
better give him
something to eat
because he is
ready to be fed
