Let Me Be Yours Poem by Michael Eziudo

Let Me Be Yours

Let me be for you
The umbrella hook that you clench unto
That gives hope when the storm rages away the covering that keeps you
And leave you prone to the intimidating temper of the storm
And it's degrees of fierceness in many a form
Beating you to and fro, leaving you without a stand
If you don't find a balance, yes, without a stand
Like a plastic plate thrown in flowing water
And watched as it moves by the boy who runs after it under the rain and cold weather
With droplets of rain water
dripping from his oiled tan skin and trying fruitlessly to grasp a hold amidst the goose bumps
Then the hook
It'll be it you'll use to catch your hold
From being dragged off your stand
Into the spine breaking distant valley with many a sharp edged rock
The hook, yes, that hook

Or heat that disheartens you
Eats up that covering from you
And leaves only the spokes that held the covering to being a covering
It'll be it you'll use to drag close a long tree
To pull its large leaves to keep you free
From the trashing the heat trashes as you push along
The hook, yes, that hook

When the boots are failing
Because they're chopping
Their souls under that no longer can hold
And so slippery it becomes when there should friction be between it and the mud
And you can't erect stand
Falling will be easy
Will be any time, yet easy
But you have faith
And you're optimistic with your mouth
You have the hook
It's pointed end stamped in the soil can give a pillar-like bunk
The hook, yes, that hook

Oh let me be yours
That which experience has taught you not to go without
And living shown you to value
And in the storm and in the rain yours
For as much as me you hold tight
For holding me tight you'll win if hold me tight you do
Let me be yours
It's all upto you
