Last Will And Testament Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Last Will And Testament

Rating: 5.0

If I should not survive
my upcoming brain surgery,
I need to let my wishes known
as to the disposition
of my worldly goods.

All of my clothing goes
to the Salvation Army.
Just one of my dresses
could be made into ten
for some African woman.

My husband can dispose
of whatever trinkets
of jewelry I have
as he sees fit.

The only other thing I own
is the country of Canada.
(See my poem
Fat Woman Conquers Canada.)

Since he was the first
to request it, Kim Barney
gets the province of Alberta.
He says his mother was born there.

Wes Vogler gets British Columbia,
because that's where he lives
and I don't want to make him
pack up and move in his old age.
Also, I love his comic strip
about Oogie the cave man
and other funny characters.

Saskatchewan goes to Carl Roussell,
who has been my most faithful reader.
He has left more comments
on more of my poems
than any other Poem Hunter member.

Ontario stays with my husband,
so that he doesn't have to move,
although we have another home
in Buffalo, New York, in the U. S. A.

Manitoba is for M. J. Lemon,
Quebec goes to Sandra Feldman,
New Brunswick to Susan Williams,
and Nova Scotia to Jessica Lockhart,
who was such a good sport
when I was writing as a
twenty-four-year-old male
pretending to be in love with her.

Poem Hunter members,
I love you all!
Belle

You can allocate the funds spent on food to maintain your obese body to someone else! I hope it will be enough to feed a hundred starved stomachs!

Congratulations for how far you have come and for simply survival. Also for having a personality, honesty and strength that is rare to come by. I hope everything is now going your way. I think you deserve it! Thank you Linda. It is great when you learn from everyday, amazing people. I wrote my will about 25 years ago. probably need to change it.
