Kingfisher Poem by Christian Thomas Scott

Kingfisher

Rating: 3.5

Tilted over sky and earth, as but a passing,
Till in grace and in an instant,
You have overthrown the river, as
A hiding place and refuge, for the lost.
But how easily the lost are found,
When you are watching from above,
And sometimes men are on their way.
Can you search the land and find them?
Though I have never seen a forest
With such currents as this stream.

i can't decide if this is supposed to be a simple description of what a bird might see (and do) , OR some metaphor or other symbolism for something totally apart from birds and rivers, .........though you do have nature as the topic. (cont.) ..
