Jesus Clings To The Weak Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Jesus from Nazareth
did not call into
his service any
great princes of
his time, not powerful,
not rich, not particularly pious.

People, normal people
like you and me,
followed his call.

One of them was
Simon Peter, who
was to become
the rock of the
Jesus movement.

But he too was a weak
person - often a failure
just like us.
He betrays the Lord
three times.
For peter, Jesus was
the reason of his life.
Three times
he denies the reason
for his life.
And yet:
Jesus clings to him.
