It Is Poem by Satish Verma

It Is

Rating: 3.5

Telling a big no
was easier than conveying
one painful truth.

The hollyhocks come
back again, after the storm.
It was a religion.

Finding happiness,
when you are alone in
darkness of the noon.

Santalales in a tangle of heaven feeds on the limbs of the supplicant uplifted. No prayers are answered only kisses given. The children play in the park in perfect indifference. Candy canes and tinsel answer for what is not given.
