Innocent Country Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Innocent Country

Innocent country

I didn't feel
Any thrill
When someone sung
"Saare jahan se achchha hidosta hamaaraa"*(My India is best among all)

The song inspires us a lot
When people fought
For freedom and liberty
And brought golden day for country

Luckily I am born in that year
As if people shall be living sans fear
Who were born in that year?
And after

After 60 years of independence
We are still unaware and tense
Wasting time on race struggle with cast flavor
Women's rape is now no more dishonors

Land grabbing and money laundering is common
People's representative gets lavish lunch on coupon
Forget about salary but now pension too
Within days in power they are in big mansion

My country was called golden sparrow
Where did sparrow go?
Many may answer"who knows it old man "
India still lives on

My country is still innocent bird
They use real words
For welcoming people
And for those who struggle out side

Patriotic feeling about your country. You deserve fighting for eradication of hardships in your beloved country.
