In The Middle Poem by Rose Marie Juan-austin

In The Middle

Rating: 4.5

Matthew is in a tight spot
Between the funny boy, John
And the serious man, Sean
Everyone is awed of what he does
He could be a kid like John
He could be a grown up man like Sean.

He just entered a new world
A different place
Where he could be anyone
A world of roller coaster
A one hundred eighty degree twist
And turn maneuver.

Years ago
He loved to wear shirts that showed
Big prints of Super Mario
Big Bird and Mickey
Mater and Snoopy
Now he wants his shirts plain
So simple and yet clean.

He is now in Middle School
And he feels it is so cool
Yet sometimes there are fools
Who want to go against the rules
Set by the school.

Middle School is wonderful
And life is colorful
Despite the turns and twists
Matthew's parents guide him
Through the years.

Four years have been so fruitful
Matthew is now leaving Middle School
With a place in the High Honor Roll
A gift so unique and memorable
For her proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hall.

I command you for your praise and Acknowledgment to Matthew. Students need to know when they are doing well, even if it's just a little pat on the back. Good job Marie

A nice poem on changing of attitudes as one grows up. He is now in his teens and experiencing the change in his body and behavior. Very nicely crated. Loved it.

A change of place may induce change in behavior also. Your poem shows your ability to observe keenly the life around you. Enjoyed your well written poem 10+

The one in the middle seems to play vain fiddle, but unless you move to the extreme, be it on the side of grim, or cream, one remains in the middle school, playing a life-long fool..., But this is being flippant, no doubt the poem's sans any dent, and verges on excellent.

Based on your poem Marie, it appears that Matthew is well-prepared for middle school. Without a doubt, he has all the confidence in the world to be successful. That’s why he feels it is so cool to be in middle school.

Matthew, having entered his teens has discarded most of his childish trends and has become mature. In his school he obeys the rules. Even when he is under peer pressure to violate the rules, he withstands all such temptations with the right guidance from his parents. Matthew is presented as an ideal student for all children to emulate.

Some children are exceptional. They combine seriousness and frolic in a desirable manner and behave mature even at a young age. They have the prudence and discretion to do things in the proper way at the right age.
